July 24, 2024: A total of 4,292 residential properties were registered in Kolkata Metropolitan Area (KMA) in June 2024, making it the best performance for the month of June in the past five years, as per the latest report by Knight Frank India. In June 2024 home registrations saw a healthy growth of 25% YoY. The data encompasses transactions in both primary (fresh sale) and secondary (re-sale) markets for residential properties throughout all periods.

Since July 2021, when the stamp duty rebate was introduced, Kolkata has seen home registrations of 1,40,358 homes. Sales momentum remained particularly robust between January to June 2024 with registration of 21,434 residential units which, when compared to registrations in the same period in 2023, was higher by 13% YoY.Â
