Maharashtra Rera orders auction of two flats in Karjat

Failure to pay the compensation led MahaRERA to issue a warrant to the collector of Raigad to recover the money.

August 10,2023: According to the MahaRERA warrant issued on May 2022, Mantang Infrastructure was ordered to pay Rs 35, 54,196 as compensation to the homebuyer. Failure to pay the compensation led MahaRERA to issue a warrant to the collector of Raigad to recover the money.

Media reports point that the two flats that are around 27 and 28 sqm are attached by the Karjat Tehsildar and will be auctioned on August 22, 2023.

Till now, around 104 warrants have been issued by the MahaRERA with respect to complaints in 42 projects registered in the Raigad district. The total amount of the warrants is Rs 20.90 crore. Of this, 52 developers have paid a compensation of Rs 6.72 crore against the warrants.

In July 2023, the MahaRERA collected around Rs 8.73 crore from five developers in Mumbai, suburban Mumbai and Pune against recovery warrants. These developers paid compensation and avoided auction of their property.
