Maulana Azad scholarship: Eligibility criteria
If you are a female pursuing pre-matric or high school studies, the Begum Hazrat Mahal national scholarship is designed for you. However, the scholarship primarily aims at providing educational assistance to minority community students (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain, and Parsis). This scholarship is open to individuals from all around India who meet the following criteria:
- The applicant must be currently enrolled in pre-matriculation (Class 9 and Class 10) or high school (Class 11 and Class 12)
- The applicant must have attained a minimum aggregate of 50% in his previous examination.
- To qualify, the applicant’s family income should not exceed INR 2 lakh per year
- A self-certified community certificate of the applicant if the applicant is the age of 18 and above.

- A copy of the parent or guardian’s income statement is issued by an authorised state/UT administration institution.
- A copy of the Aadhaar enrollment ID
- For applicants over 18, a self-validated community certificate must be presented. For applicants under the age of 18, parents/ guardians must certify the community certificate.
- Bank passbook, PAN card, driving licence, or ration card of the applicant
- A school-issued certificate of identity featuring a photo of the applicant authorised by the school’s Headmaster or Principal
How to apply for Maulana Azad scholarship 2022?
If you are eligible to apply for the Maulana Azad scholarship for AY 2022-23, collect all the required documents and follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Navigate to the Maulana Azad Education Foundation portal
Step 2: Under the ‘Schemes’ tab, click on ‘scholarship Scheme’
Step 3: You will be redirected to a new page, here click on the link which says ‘To Apply Online
Step 4: Your browser will be redirected to the National Scholarship Portal
Step 5: Under the ‘Applicant Corner,’ select ‘New Registration’ if you are a new applicant on the portal. However, if you have already registered, click on ‘Fresh Application.’
Step 6: Accept the terms and conditions of the undertaking, and click on ‘Continue’
Step 7: Your browser will be redirected to the registration form. To register, fill out the form with all the required information and click the ‘Register’ button.
Step 8: Once you have registered, log in using your application ID and date of birth. Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number to verify your contact number.
Step 9: Next, furnish all your details carefully in the application form and upload the scanned documents and pay the application fee.
