Following the directive of Bombay High Court, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) on April 10, 2023 issues occupancy certificates (OC) to two realty projects developed as part of the Patra chawl redevelopment at Goregaon Mumbai.
MHADA OC has been issued to A and B wings of Ekta Tripolis and A, C and D wings of Kalpataru Radiance. Also, a part OC has been issued to Kalpataru’s B wing.
This ruling is in favour of more than 1,000 homebuyers who had purchased units from the saleable component of Patra Chawl redevelopment project in Goregaon.
On March 21, 2023, Bombay High Court had directed MHADA to issue OCs to the rehabilitation and free sale component buildings in the Patra Chawl and Siddharth Nagar Redevelopment Project at Goregaon by April 5, 2023 which was then extended till April 10, 2023.
Spread over 47 acre, in 2008, MHADA had awarded redevelopment of the Patra Chawl project to Guru Ashish developers, who declared bankruptcy in 2017 and the project entered a deadlock. Â The homebuyers had booked in these projects in 2012 and had to be given OC by 2016.
