July 17, 2024: Maharashtra housing minister Atul Save on July 16 announced the construction of 1,056 homes at Nakshatrwadi in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). This is part of the government’s effort to provide homes to the homeless.
Save explained that the new housing project at Nakshatrwadi will include modern amenities at par with the private developers. The Bhoomi pujan ceremony for this project will happen soon, he added.
Atul Save was in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar to conduct the computerised Mhada Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar lottery lucky draw. Under this, 1,133 homes and 361 available plots in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, as well as in Latur, Jalna, Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, and Dharashiv were given. These homes and plots were developed under various housing schemes managed by Mhada’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Board.
The computerized lottery for the 1,133 homes and 361 plots was conducted in four phases. In the first phase, the lottery was held for 957 applications received for 425 homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), with Suresh Bansode being the first winner.
Citizens who couldn’t attend the ceremony watched the live broadcast of the lottery through Mhada’s webcasting service.Â
