Mumbai Metro 3 expected to begin ops by July 1

The phase-1 of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 will operate between Aarey and the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

May 28, 2024: The phase-1 of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 also known as the Aqua Line is expected to begin operations from July 1, 2024, mentioned a ToI report.

At present, 99.5% of the construction work at the Aarey Depot is complete. The phase-1 of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 will operate between Aarey and the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).

Presently, the MMRCL has already started trial runs for the same. Next, the Research, Design and Standard Organisation (RDSO) will review it. According to an Indian Express report, the RDSO team will inspect in the first week of June. Additionally, all other required certificates for operations of Mumbai Metro 3 will be sought by the MMRCL.

Mumbai Metro Line 3 covers 33.5–km and will be made operational in phases. Phase-1 will be from Aarey to BKC.
