Nabanna scholarship: Eligibility criteria
In order to apply for the Nabanna scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
- West Bengal domicile certificate is necessary.
- To be eligible for this scholarship, students must have recently passed an exam from a board that is recognised by the Council of the University of West Bengal.
- They must also be continuing their studies at any recognised West Bengal institution.
- To be eligible for the +2 level, the student must have received at least 50% but no more than 60% overall in the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination.
- For eligibility for the undergraduate level, the student must have received at least a 50% but no more than a 60% grade in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examination.
- To be eligible for post-graduation level, students must have received a grade of at least 50% but no more than 53%.
- A student’s family’s income shouldn’t exceed Rs 1,20,000 per annum.
Nabanna scholarship: Documents required
The following documents must be submitted with the Nabanna Scholarship application:
- Photocopy of the tuition/admission fees book.
- Copies of all previous exam results’ mark sheets.
- Copies of the selection committee’s rank card and letter of allocation (only for JEE or equivalent examination).
- A copy of the MP or MLA’s recommendation with the student’s family’s monthly income given to the Honorable Chief Minister.
- Self-bank account information, including a photocopy of the bank passbook and the IFSC code, branch code, branch name, and account number.
- DM, SDO, BDO, Group-A government officer with a rank higher than Joint B.D.O, Deputy Commissioner of Corporation, or Executive Officer in the case of Municipality, copy of monthly family income certificate.
- A self-declaration from the student regarding their current course of study, which must include their year and semester, as well as any scholarships, financial aid, or other assistance received. This document must be countersigned by the institution’s leader and sealed.
- The student’s contact information, including a mobile number.
- Copies of all required documentation must be signed by a Group-A government official in order to be valid.

Nabanna scholarship: Selection process
The Nabanna scholarship programme will consider the percentage of a student’s most recent exam and the financial situation of their family when choosing recipients. The application review process will take three or more months to complete after an application has been submitted. The Chief Minister’s Office’s CMRF cell will review the scholarship application. For additional verification, it could be sent to the District Magistrate or the Commissioner of Police in Kolkata.
