NH 2 distance and route

National Highway 2 is a 1326 kilometer-long road that stretches from Dibrugarh in Assam to Tuipang in Mizoram.According to the old numbering system, National Highways 37, 61, 39, 150 and 54 currently form NH 2.

NH 2 connects four states in the Northeast region of India, namely Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram. Between its endpoints at Dibrugarh and Tuipang, this highway passes through Sivasagar and Amguri in Assam, Mokokchung, Wokha and Kohima in Nagaland, Imphal and Churachandpur in Manipur, and finally, Selling, Serchhip and Lawngtlai in Mizoram

 

NH 2 major junctions

NH2 is well-connected to other regions of the region through several junctions. Here is a list of the other national highways NH 2 is connected to:

NH 15

NH 15 is yet another highway that stretches across the Northeast region of the country. This highway connects Baihata in Assam with Wakro in Arunachal Pradesh, passing through Dibrugarh, where it meets NH2.

NH 202

NH 202 stretches from Nagaland to Manipur and connects Mokokchung with Imphal. Both these places are also covered by the route of NH 2.

NH 29

NH 29 stretches across three states in the Northeast, namely Assam, Nagaland and Manipur, connecting Dabaka to Jessami. It meets NH 2 near Nagaland’s capital Kohima.

NH 37 

NH 37 runs from Assam to Manipur, joining Badarpur to Imphal. This highway joins NH 2 near its terminating point at Imphal.

Others

NH 2 forms junctions with several other national highways alongside the aforementioned. Some of the major highways that it is connected to are include NH 702A, NH 702D, NH 102 and NH 502A.

 

Significance of  NH2

NH 2 has ensured smooth connectivity between important regions and cities which has played a crucial role in connecting diverse locales and cultures to the rest of the country.The development of this national highway has strengthened the transport system of the region.

The stretch of NH 2 connecting Imphal and Kohima is  a part of the Asian Highways 1 and 2. This highway 1 starts at Japan and stretches across the continent till Turkey. Asian Highway 2 connects Indonesia to Iran.

 

Impact of NH 2 on real estate 

NH 2 has made the Northeast region of the country much more accessible than before. It has strengthened the infrastructure and transport systems, soon to be followed by increased real estate development.The region provides an attractive prospect for investors for both residential and commercial projects.
