Day 1 October  15, 2023 Orange Shailputri

 

Goddess Shailputri known for the strength she possesses is worshipped on Day 1 of Navratri. She brings along strength needed for the well-being of your house. The goddess is worshipped by wearing orange attire. Alternatively, you can also decorate the entire house in shades of orange while welcoming and doing the Puja of the goddess.

Goddess Brahmacharini governs Lord Mangal and is a very powerful avatar. It is believed that by praying to her all goals can be achieved. The goddess Brahmacharini is associated with white, which is also the colour for day two of Navratri.

Red colour stands for power, determination and love. Goddess Chandraghanta is worshipped on day three of the Navratri by wearing red attire. Also, the house is decorated with red flowers that are believed to please the god visiting the house.

On day four of Navratri, goddess Kushmanda, known for abundance and wisdom is worshipped. She is believed to bring prosperity and well-being in your home.

Goddess Skand Mata is believed to bring positivity in the house and is worshipped on Day 5 of this Navratri. She is associated with the yellow colour which is known to be a pleasing home colour.

Goddess Katyayani is believed to be very powerful and calm at the same time as she has a sword on hand and a lotus on the other. She had destroyed Mahishasur and is believed to remove negativity and obstacles from one’s house and life.

Also known as the god who is the death of Kaal, Kaalratri is known to remove darkness. She is said to remove evil and negative effects from the homes’ of her devotees.
