No property tax hike in Bangalore from April 1

Bangalore Property Tax will be calculated on the basis of the computation method adopted in 2016.

March 27, 2024: The Karnataka state government on March 25, 2024 clarified that there will be no hike in property tax in Bangalore from April 1, 2024. This was done after fake news was being circulated. In a post on micro-blogging site X, the Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar said

 

 

Industry experts had expected a raise in property tax in Bangalore once the guidance value was increased in Karnataka late last year. This is because the property tax in all locations in Karnataka except Bangalore is calculated based on guidance value. In Bangalore, the property tax is calculated on the basis of the computation method that was adopted in 2016.
