Over 200 shanties and temporary shops, which had come up on a 20-acre government land, were cleared of illegal occupation and the land worth around Rs 21 crores, was reclaimed by the Noida Authority, officials said, on November 5, 2019. The land is located in an area notified by the Noida Authority in Nayabans village, near the Shani temple and measures around 4,000 sq metres, they added.
“The government land was illegally occupied by people from Delhi’s Dallupura and 225 shanties and shops had come up in five to six land pockets there, all of which were removed by Noida Authority officials and the police. The enforcement department has been instructed to keep the land, worth around Rs 21 crores, free from encroachments,” an official spokesperson said.

September 20, 2019: A commercial plot measuring 30,000 sq metres and valued at approximately Rs 480 crores, was cleared of encroachment and reclaimed by the Noida Authority, officials said, on September 19, 2019. The reclaimed land is located in the A block of the industrial Sector 63, the officials said.
Around 120-130 shanties had come up illegally on the land but were razed down in the presence of police officials, according to an official statement. “The land is notified area belonging to the Noida Authority. The encroachment was removed on instructions of Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari. It is a commercial land measuring 30,000 sq metres and valued at Rs 480 crore,” it stated.
Noida Authority clears encroachment on plot worth Rs 35 crores

September 18, 2019: A plot measuring over 3,500 sq metres and valued at about Rs 35 crores, has been cleared of encroachment and reclaimed by the Noida Authority, officials said, on September 17, 2019. Shanties, shops and other constructions had come illegally on the land in Bhagel Begumpur village, which were razed, the Noida Authority said.
Notices were served to the encroachers earlier to vacate the land and a complaint was also made to the police on September 14, according to an official statement. “The land is notified area belonging to the Noida Authority. The encroachment was removed on instructions of Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari,” it said.

September 17, 2019: Two land plots in Noida, measuring over 20,000 sq metres and valued together at Rs 317 crores, were cleared of encroachment and reclaimed by the Noida Authority, officials said, on September 16, 2019. About 18,570 sq metres of land in Sector 73’s Sarfabad village, valued at Rs 295 crores was encroached with 150 shanties, four furniture showrooms and four animal shelters coming up in that area illegally, the officials said. Another 1,680-sq metre plot worth Rs 22.80 crores, was in Sector 110’s Gejha Tilpatabad, where 20 shanties had come up illegally, the Noida Authority said in a statement.
“All the area in these two plots is notified area belonging to the Noida Authority. The encroachment was removed on instructions of Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari,” it said. The authority said it has also approached the police with a complaint against people concerned over illegal occupation on the land.
Noida Authority razes illegal construction, reclaims land worth Rs 24 crores

August 30, 2019: A land measuring 6,000 sq metres and valued at approximately Rs 24 crore, was reclaimed by the Noida Authority on August 29, 2019, as it continued with its anti-encroachment drive in the city, officials said. The land falls in Chhijarsi area, under Work Circle 4 of the Authority and the construction that had come up there were razed, on orders of NOIDA CEO Ritu Maheshwari, they said.
“The land was encroached by Satyaprakash, Devprakash, Sonu Sharma and Jitendra Sharma. The encroachment was cleared by the Authority with the help of police and the land reclaimed,” the Noida Authority said. “A boundary wall on the land had given way to 16 small shops and 50 shanties, which had come up there illegally and they too were cleared from the encroached land,” it said. The Authority officials have approached the police with a complaint against the people who had illegally occupied the government land and an FIR has been registered against them, it added.
Noida Authority reclaims encroached land worth Rs 650 crores

August 19, 2019: Over 13 hectares of land, approximately worth Rs 650 crores, was cleared of encroachment and reclaimed by the Noida Authority on August 17, 2019, officials said. The Noida Authority-notified land is in Sorkha Zahidabad village in Sector 117 and was freed during a joint operation by the Authority, the city magistrate and the police, they said.
“An anti-encroachment drive is being carried out against the land mafia here, during which 1,30,683 sq metres (13 hectares) of encroached land, worth Rs 650 crores was reclaimed,” a Noida Authority spokesperson said. “About 180 shanties, three mobile towers, etc., had come up on the encroached land, besides 30 pucca shops including car garages, liquor shops and nurseries,” the spokesperson said.
The Noida Authority, in a statement, said it has approached police, to file an FIR against the key people who had encroached the land. Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari, directed the officials concerned to request the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration, to get these people booked as ‘land mafia’ and ensure action against them accordingly, it said. She also called for an inquiry over the land encroachment and warned of strict action against any Authority official found involved in the matter.
