September 14, 2023: The Phoenix Mills (PML) has announced the launch of its second mall in Pune, Phoenix Mall of the Millennium. Spread across 16 acre and consisting of over 12 lakh sqft of gross leasable area, this retail destination is located in Wakad, Pune.
Atul Ruia, chairman, The Phoenix Mills, said, “In 2006, we embarked on a transformative journey by acquiring our first site in Pune’s eastern enclave at Viman Nagar. Phoenix MarketCity Pune, operational since 2011, swiftly established its position as a crown jewel in our portfolio. Today, we unveil our second retail destination in Pune, Phoenix Mall of the Millennium at Wakad.”
The mall has intricately woven atriums and open-plan restaurants as part of its design. It has the presence of over 350 national and international brands and a 14- screen cinema theatre, according to the statement issued by the company.

Shishir Shrivastava, managing director, The Phoenix Mills, said, “Phoenix Mall of the Millennium at Wakad, Pune, perfectly matches our philosophy of creating unparalleled city-centre, retail-led destinations. We launch this development with Phoenix Mall of the Millennium spread over 12 lakh sqft of leasable area. Additionally, we have under-construction, modern commercial office space with approximately 14 lakh sqft of leasable area, expected to become operational in FY25.
The mall is developed under PML’s joint venture (JV) with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments). This is the second retail destination under the JV with the first one being Phoenix Citadel Indore that started operations in December 2022.
