PM flags off 10 new Vande Bharat trains

Routes of 4 Vande Bharat trains routes also extended.

March 12, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off 10 new Vande Bharat trains that would boost connectivity among India’s Tier-II cities.

The routes for which the PM flagged of the new Vande Bharat Trains include:

  1. Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central
  2. Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam
  3. Mysuru- Dr MGR Central (Chennai)
  4. Patna-Lucknow
  5. New Jalpaiguri-Patna
  6. Puri-Visakhapatnam
  7. Lucknow-Dehradun
  8. Kalaburagi-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru
  9. Ranchi-Varanasi
  10. Khajuraho-Delhi (Nizamuddin)

PM flags off extension of 4 Vande Bharat routes

The Prime Minister also flagged off the extension of four Vande Bharat trains. These include:

  1. Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat: Extended till Dwarka
  2. Ajmer- Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat: Extended till Chandigarh
  3. Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat: Extended till Prayagraj
  4. Thiruvananthapuram- Kasargod Vande Bharat: Extended till Mangaluru.

The PM also launched two new passenger trains between Asansol and Hatia and Tirupati and Kollam stations.

 

Railway promoting tourism, says Modi

The Prime Minister underlined that development works for the creation of Viksit Bharat are continuously expanding with the inauguration and laying the foundation stone of multiple development projects across the country.

Modi expressed delight that Indian Railway is promoting tourism related to regional culture and faith while realising the mantra of heritage along with development.

“Today, Bharat Gaurav trains are running on the Ramayana Circuit, the Guru-Kripa Circuit and Jain Yatra while Aastha special trains are taking Shri Ram devotees from every corner of the country to Ayodhya,” PM Modi said, informing that around 350 Aastha trains have already run taking more than 4.5 lakh devotees for Ramlalla’s darshan in Ayodhya.
