February 23, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspected the recently inaugurated Shivpur- Phulwaria- Lahartara Marg in Kashi today.
Developed at an estimated cost of Rs 360 crore, the road project would enable better connectivity to around 5 lakh people living around the southern part of the city. Aside from making travel to the Varanasi Airport easier, the road project would also make commuting to neighbouring cities like Lucknow, Azamgarh and Ghazipur easier.

“Upon landing in Kashi, inspected the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg. This project was inaugurated recently and has been greatly helpful to people in the southern part of the city,” the prime minister posted on micro-blogging X.

“This project saw inter-ministerial coordination, including from railways and defence to enhance ease of living for citizens of Varanasi,” the ministry said.
