PM Modi releases 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on June 18
The 17th installment of the PM Kisan Yojana for the quarter of April to July 2024 was released on June 18, 2024. An amount of over Rs 20,000 crore was released by PM Modi from Varanasi.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: Objective
Farmers in India get direct financial assistance from the central government through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, launched in December 2018. Under the PM Kisan Samman Yojana, an amount of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to all landholding farmers’ families. This is provided in three equal instalments. This 100% funding from the central government is directly transferred to bank accounts of the beneficiaries and no middleman is involved in the process. In this article, we would highlight some of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi problems faced by beneficiaries and their solutions.
Note that the money will be transferred to Aadhaar and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) linked bank account only and no other account.
In case a farmer’s bank account is not NPCI linked, then he should on priority open a DBT enabled account with the India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) by getting in touch with the local post office. He will receive the next installment in this account. Note that the government has granted permission to the Department of Posts to link Aadhaar and NPCI to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi problem #1: Beneficiary’s name missing in the list
Farmers whose names are not included in the beneficiaries’ list of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana should approach the district-level grievance redressal monitoring committee in their districts for inclusion of their names.
Alternatively, farmers can login to PM KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana web portal at https://pmkisan.gov.in/ and make use of the exclusive farmers’ corner created.
This provides farmers with three options:
New Farmer Registration: Using this, farmers can submit mandatory details like self-declaration about the eligibility online. The form is then sent by an automated process to the State Nodal Officer (SNO) for verification. The SNO verifies details filled by farmers and uploads the verified data on the PM KISAN portal. Thereafter, the data is processed through an established system for payment.
Edit Aadhaar Details: With this, a farmer can edit his/her name himself/herself according to details mentioned in the Aadhaar card. Post verification by the system, the edited name gets updated.
Beneficiary Status: With this link, by entering Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, or bank account number, beneficiaries can check the status of payment of their PM Kisan Samman Yojana instalments.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi problem #2: Beneficiary not receiving any instalment in any four-month period
Beneficiaries, whose names are uploaded on PM Kisan portal by the concerned State/UT governments in a particular four-month period, are entitled to receive the benefit for that period with effect from the four-month period. For some reason, if they don’t receive the payment of instalment pertaining to that four-month period and subsequent instalments, except due to rejection for falling within the exclusion criteria, beneficiaries will get all due instalments whenever the issue is resolved.

Note that after surrendering from the PM-KISAN scheme you will not be able to receive any further PM-KISAN cash benefits. Also, you will not be able to register again for the PM-KISAN scheme.
