PM to launch National Common Mobility Card in Mumbai

With the NCMC, a person can use various modes of public transport across India without the need to buy a ticket

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) service for the Mumbai Metro on January 19, 2023. He visits Maharashtra capital to inaugurate Mumbai Metro 2A and 7 and Navi Mumbai Metro and will lay the foundation station for a host of other infrastructure projects.

Aside from the Mumbai Metro, the BEST buses support the use of the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) service.  With the NCMC, a person can use various modes of public transport across India without the need to buy a ticket.  Presently to be used in metro stations across the country, the NCMC will be extended for paying toll, shopping etc. going forward.

Additionally, Mumbai 1, mobile application will also be launched which will have all details about the Mumbai Metro service. Currently, NCMC is also being tried out in Chennai Metro and the already operational Mumbai Metro Line 1 that ply between Ghatkopar and Versova.

The NCMC must have a minimum balance of Rs 100 and can be charged in multiples of 100 with maximum of Rs 2,000.
