Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 14, 2024, laid the foundation stone of two additional corridors of the Delhi Metro at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Part of the Delhi Metro Phase-IV, these corridors will run between Lajpat Nagar and Saket-G Block and Inderlok-Indraprastha. Recall here that the Union Cabinet on March 13 gave an approval to the Rs 8,399 crore project.
These corridors will together be of more than 20 km in length: the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor will be 12.377-km long and the Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor will be 8.385-km long. Together, these two lines will comprise 20.762 km.
These corridors will help improve connectivity and further reduce traffic congestion, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement. The new metro corridors are scheduled to be completed by March 2029.
Lajpat Nagar-Saket G- Block corridor
The Lajpat Nagar-Saket G-Block Metro corridor will be about 8.4 km. The entirely corridor will he elevated and will have 8 stations. The corridor will connect the Silver, Magenta, Pink Line and Violet Line.

Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor
The Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor will be an extension of the Green Line and will provide interchange with the Red Line, the Yellow Line, the Airport Line, the Magenta Line, the Violet Line and the Blue Line. This metro corridor will provide enhanced connectivity to the Bahadurgarh region of Haryana.
