PM Kisan Karnataka: The scheme

PM Kisan is a government scheme that aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across India. The scheme provides direct income support of Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers, paid in three instalments of R. 2,000 each.

The PM Kisan scheme has been implemented successfully in Karnataka, and many farmers have benefited. The state government has taken various steps to ensure that eligible farmers can avail of the scheme’s benefits without difficulties.

To be eligible for the PM Kisan scheme in Karnataka, a farmer should have a cultivable landholding of up to 2 hectares, and the land should be in their name. Additionally, the farmer should have a valid Aadhaar card, and the details should be linked with the bank account to receive the benefits.

The application process for the scheme is simple. It can be done online through the PM Kisan portal or by visiting the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or the Agriculture Department office. The government has also established a dedicated helpline to assist farmers with the application process.

If the application is approved, the farmer will soon get the first instalment of Rs 2,000 in his bank account. The remaining two instalments will be paid after verification of the farmer’s details and landholding.

PM Kisan Karnataka: Why is self-declaration important, and what does it entail?

At each Gram Panchayath, the list of farmers who have been shortlisted will be published. If a farmer qualifies for this service, he must submit a self-declaration in the manner required. This declaration may be filed electronically or by giving it directly to the appropriate department.

Self-declaration must be made per Notification C, which contains the applicant’s consent to use their Aadhaar number.

Nonetheless, the farmer will be on a shortlist of candidates to submit to the union government. According to Notification D, newly recruited farmers shall submit their self-declaration.

The farmers who were selected can make a self-declaration to have their name removed from the list in accordance with Notification E if they are not qualified to receive the reward.

Self-declaration can be filed using electronic signing or e-sign. The farmers will be given a lot number after self-declaration.

The applicant must include the following information on the self declaration form.

  1. The applicant’s name
  2. Age
  3. An Aadhar ID
  4. Phone number
  5. Address
  6. Category
  7. Specifics of the land RTC (in case of an application for a subsidy)

 

PM Kisan Karnataka: Where to submit the application? 

Farmers can submit their applications at government-owned facilities like the Bapuji Seva Kendra, Raitha Samparka Centers, Atal-Ji Janasnehi Centers, or other government service centres and offices.

  1. The applicant must be a marginal small farmer.
  2. Must possess up to 2 hectares of cultivable land.
  3. A bank account is required.
  4. Tribal groups have ownership rights to forest-area farms.

PM Kisan Karnataka: Who is not eligible? 

  1. People with more than two hectares of land
  2. Constitutional offices should not be held by members of farming families, either currently or in the past.
  3. A farmer’s family member is not allowed to be a current or past state or federal minister, member of the Lok Sabha, Rajyasabha, state legislature, state legislative council, mayor of a municipal corporation, or chairman of a district Panchayath.
  4. All officials and workers of Central and State Government Ministries, Offices, and Departments who are now employed or have just retired, as well as regular employees of Local bodies (Multitasking staff and Class IV, Group D personnel are not covered by this rule).
  5. Professionals such as doctors, engineers, attorneys, chartered accountants, and architects are members of professional organisations and carry out their practises as part of their professions.
  6. A person who has paid the prior year’s tax

 

The state would create a database of qualified beneficiaries drawn from the community farmer families. Farmers who make false self-declarations must repay the money and face the appropriate legal consequences.

This programme will be implemented at the district and taluk levels by the commissioner for agriculture, joint director for agriculture, and assistant director for agriculture. All of these officers must adhere to the union ministry’s rules.
