How to pay property tax in Patna?

The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has extended the deadline to pay property tax by five days, from February 24 to February 29, 2024. Those who fail to pay the property tax within the extended deadline will have to pay heavy fines. Their properties might also be attracted by the municipal body as the next course of action. This is why making the payment on time is of essence.  

What is property tax?

Property tax is an annual tax that property owners should pay to the local body in a city. Property owners should pay tax on the official website of the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) for properties coming under its jurisdiction. The process is simple and hassle free.

How to pay property tax in Patna?

Step 1: To pay property tax for the current financial year, click on ‘Self-Assessment’ on the official page.

 

 

Step 2: On the next page, provide circle name, ward number, property number, owner name, SAS number, etc. Fill in any details to find the property and click on ‘Submit’.

 

 

Step 3: A list of properties will be visible. Select your property. Click on ‘View’ to file assessment of the current financial year.

 

 

Step 4: Select the assessment type and click on ‘Submit’.

 

 

Step 5: You will now receive an OTP on your mobile number. Enter the OTP in the required field and click on ‘Submit’.

 

 

Step 6: You will see the no change assessment form.

 

 

Step 7: Click on ‘Pay Property Tax’ online.

 

 

Step 8: You can proceed to pay.

 

 

Step 9: You will find the payment gateway. Fill in all the details to make the final payment.

 

 

How to pay property tax in case of change in tax details?

Step 1: Select the Changes & Alterations assessment type. An OTP verification shows the changes and alterations form page.

 

 

Step 2: Change property and floor details. Click on ‘Submit’ to view the modified details.

 

 

Step 3: You can see the modified property and tax details.

 

 

Step 4: You can proceed to pay.

The Patna Municipal Corporation has simplified the property tax payment process, enabling payment through QR code. Simply scan the QR code, fill in the property ID details and pay your property tax.
