June 6,2023: In a move to assist homebuyers with all project related information, the MahaRERA has introduced a Quick Response Code (QR Code) for each MahaRERA-registered project.  The real estate regulatory body of Maharashtra has made it mandatory for each and every project promotion/ advertisement published effective August 1, 2023 to have a QR code.  MahaRERA started issuing QR codes to registered projects in March 2023.

How must the QR code be published?

The QR code must be published such that it is legible, readable and detectable with software application.

The QR code must be published besides the MahaRERA registration number and the project website address.

Where does the QR code mandate apply?

The MahaRERA QR code mandate shall apply to the following mediums of promotion or advertisement and in any other medium as directed by the RERA in future.

  • Advertisements on newspaper, magazines, journals
  • Printed flyers, brochures, catalogues, leaflets
  • Prospectus or standees on project sites, sales Office
  • Websites / web pages of projects
  • Social media advertisements
  • Any other advertisements where QR codes can be published.

According to the RERA Act, developers have to update quarterly project status on the MahaRERA website. The QR code simplifies access to such information for the homebuyer.
