The SC scholarship is handled and provided by the Ministry of Social Justice, and the ST scholarship is managed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. 

 

SC and ST scholarship: Mandatory documents

SC and ST scholarship: Benefits and facilities

SC and ST scholarships provide a few facilities to all the beneficiaries. The only thing that should be kept in mind is students have to get admission to various institutions for higher studies. Here are those facilities:

  • There will be living expenses provided by the government, which will be Rs 2220 per month.
  • The fee for books and stationery items will be covered through the scheme, which will be Rs 5000 per month.
  • The entire tuition fee is covered by this SC/ST scholarship.
  • Rs 45000 will be provided to each student to cover their laptop charges. But this is a one-time assistance. 

The tuition fee and other nonrefundable charges will be submitted by the government to the educational institutions directly. DBT mode will be used to pay the fee by the Central Government. Charges like living expenses, laptop fees, etc., will be transferred directly to the beneficiary or student’s registered bank account.
