SEZ Online is an online facility developed for enabling digital SEZ-related transactions aimed at facilitating seamless processes, electronic filing, and processing and ensuring transparency in government transactions. The digital platform also helps reduce the costs and turnaround time for the clearance of applications.

What is SEZ Online?
SEZ Online is an initiative by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and a centralised system for the administration of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the country. It is an online portal that enables digital filing and processing of SEZ-related transactions undertaken by SEZ developers, co-developers, and units with the SEZ administration.
SEZ Online portal: How to log in and register?
- Visit the SEZ online portal https://www.sezonline-ndml.com/.
- Registered users can log into the website by entering their username, password, and captcha code.
- New users are required to register. For this, click on the ‘First login’ option on the home screen.
- On the next page, create user ID and submit your e-mail address, and mobile number in the given fields. Key in the captcha code and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- An OTP and e-mail verification link will be sent to the user.
- Once the registration is completed, you can sign into the portal with user ID and password.
- Click on the ‘Existing Unit/Developer/Co-developer registration’ option and choose the ‘User Category’ from the drop-down. Create a user ID and password. Mention the values for all the given fields and upload supporting documents.
- Submit the Captcha Code and click the declaration box after reading the terms and conditions.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button. The user will get a confirmation message.
- Click on the ‘User Login’ and log in using your credentials.

Developers, co-developers, and unit holders can visit the SEZ online portal to pay SEZ duty and other transaction charges through NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer), cheque, or DD (Demand Draft).

How do I pay my SEZ Duty online?
Users can pay the SEZ duty online through the SEZ Online portal. After the payment, the transaction status is updated on the platform.
How to file a SEZ bill of entry?
The entity maker or CHA user can visit the SEZ Online portal to prepare a bill of entry request and submit it to the entity approver. After verification, the entity approver submits the request to the customs office.
What is the process of setting up a SEZ?
Any entity willing to establish a SEZ unit must submit a single application in the prescribed format, Form F, in five copies to the Development Commissioner of the SEZ, where a unit is proposed to be set up. A copy has to be sent to the SEZ developer.
Who approves SEZ in India?
The single-window SEZ approval mechanism is enabled by a 19-member inter-ministerial SEZ Board of Approval (BoA). The developer must submit the proposal to the state government. The state government forwards the proposal to the BoA along with its recommendation within 45 days. The developer or applicant can directly submit the proposal to the BoA. The board takes the decision based on the merits of the proposal.
What documents are required for SEZ approval?
The documents for SEZ approval include a copy of the registered partnership deed in case of a partnership firm or LLP, residential proof, PAN card and ITR for the last three years in respect of all partners/proprietors.
