Located on the city’s west side, it is the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad, spanning over 2.71 km.
This flyover starts at Tolichowki, near Galaxy Theatre, and ends at Malkam Cheruvu. This flyover bypasses four major junctions – Seven Tombs, Film Nagar, OU Colony and Whisper Valley. Besides cutting down traffic significantly, the flyover reduced the travel time for commuters between Rethibowli and Gachibowli; an intermediate road between the Inner Ring Road and the Outer Ring Road. Private estimates indicate that the flyover has eased traffic for over 4 lakh vehicles that ply on this major corridor.
In addition, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation built a park with a walking track under the Shaikpet flyover and vertical gardens above the 16-pillar flyover.
