Shirdi Airport: Terminal

The airport currently operates with a single terminal, covering an area of 2,750 sqm. This terminal has a daily passenger capacity of 500. However, recognizing the increasing demand, the Maharashtra State Government has approved funds amounting to Rs 1,200 crore for constructing a new terminal. The existing terminal’s development will be facilitated with Rs 364 crore, while the remaining Rs 876 crore will be allocated for the new terminal.

The airport’s infrastructure includes a 2,500-metre runway and a terminal spanning 2,750 sqm. There are plans for an extended runway to 3,200 metre and a new terminal building. In July 2019, the state government approved these expansions to accommodate more passengers and facilitate night-landing capabilities. Additionally, a DVOR (Distance Measuring Equipment, VHF Omnidirectional Range) system was installed in September 2019 to enhance landing capabilities during low visibility.
