Sion Panvel Expressway has been one of the busiest roads in Mumbai Metropolitan ever since its launch in 2014. The 10-lane and 25 km long expressway was constructed at a whooping cost of Rs 1220 crores. The expressway starts from Sion in Mumbai and ends at Kalamboli Junction in Panvel via Navi Mumbai. As the expressway connects three major cities namely, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Panvel it is jointly managed by the Maharashtra Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.

Sion Panvel Expressway: Latest update
The Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) has recently sent the approval to the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) for the Khargar Coastal road. This new road is all set to connect Jalmarg in Kharghar to Sector 11 in CBD Belapur. With this, the traffic load on the Sion Panvel Expressway will be regularised. Additionally, it will also enable better connectivity between South-Central Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
