The State of Bihar maintains the responsibility of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL). SBPDCL is a public sector enterprise (PSU) established on November 1, 2012, following Section 14 of the Electricity Act of 2003. The company has taken the place of the Bihar State Electricity Board. SBPDCL serves a region in southern Bihar comprising 17 districts and further subdivided into 36 divisions. It is responsible for meeting the electricity needs of more than 3 million customers.

Steps to to pay bill on the SBPDCL portal
- Go to the official SBPDCL portal.
- Head to the “Instant Payment” section on the sidebar of the homepage.
- Now select view & pay the bill.
- Now enter your CA number and click on submit.
- Once you have verified your information, click “Pay Now” to confirm your payment information and begin the process.
- You will then be sent to the payment page.
- After the money has been fully processed, the payment acknowledgement will show up on the screen.
- A copy of the payment confirmation may be printed off by choosing the print option from the menu.
- You will be able to pay your bill online by following these instructions successfully.

Steps to apply for the new connection on the SBPDCL portal
- To begin, go to the official SBPDCL portal.
- Head to the “New Connection” section on the sidebar of the homepage.
- Now click on the new service connection.
- Now, enter your mobile number and district to get the OTP.
- This section of the menu will be expanded. Select the “LT New Connection” item.
- To successfully register on the KEDL site, be sure to enter all of your account and personal information precisely.

Documents required to apply for new connection
To apply for a new connection online, you will need a scanned copy of your identification document, proof of address document, and a recent photograph.
Verification of individual: Any of the following (Aadhar Card, Voter ID Ration Card, Driving Licence Passport, PAN Card, Below Poverty Line Card ID Card Issued by Government).
Proof of address: Any of the following (Aadhar card, voter ID ration card, driving licence passport, landline connection, gas connection card, ID card issued by the government).
- Fill out the online application form with the necessary information. Then, go back and re-check the information you filled out after you uploaded the scanned papers. The statement after the form must be thoroughly read before you press the submit button.
- New connection application orders are made, and Temporary Registration Numbers (TRNs) are established when a user clicks Submit. The order number and the application amount are also shown to the user..
