SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan buys Rs 12.91-cr farmland in Alibaug

Suhana paid a stamp duty of more than Rs 77.46 lakh.

Suhana Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, has purchased farmland in Alibaug’s Thal village for Rs 12.91 crore. The farmland is spread across an area of 1.5 acre and has 2,218 square foot (sqft) of structures on it. Suhana, aged 23, paid a stamp duty of more than Rs 77.46 lakh. According to the records, the deal took place on June 1, 2023.

The land was bought from three sisters Anjali, Rekha and Priya Khot, who inherited the land from their parents. It has been registered in the name of Déjà Vu Farm Pvt Ltd, of which SRK’s mother-in-law Savita Chhibber and sister-in-law Namita Chhibber are directors. Reportedly, the registration documents describe Suhana Khan as an “agriculturist” as you have to be into farming to buy farmland.

Suhana signed her first brand endorsement in April this year with the cosmetic giant Maybelline New York. She is set to make her film debut in the Netflix film The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar. She graduated from Ardingly College in Sussex, UK, and completed her acting degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2022.

The Thal village, where Suhana’s new farmland is located, is a 12-minute drive from the centre of the Alibaug town. Shah Rukh Khan already has a lavish sea-facing bungalow in Alibaug, which served as the venue of his extravagant 52nd birthday party. Several other celebrities have vacation homes in Alibaug including Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh and industrialist Gautam Singhania.

The introduction of Ro-Ro and speed boats connecting Mumbai to Alibaug has enhanced the connectivity to the region. Additionally, the upcoming Mumbai Trans Harbour Link sea bridge, connecting Sewri to Nhava Sheva, is expected to further improve road connectivity. This increased accessibility has sparked a surge in property demand in Alibaug, consequently driving up market values.
