Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao will lay the foundation stone for the 31-km Airport Metro corridor on December 9, 2022, in Hyderabad.
Estimated to be built at around Rs 6,250 crore, the new metro will connect Hyderabad’s Mindspace junction and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad and cover this distance in 20 minutes.
The stations that are planned in this corridor include Raidurg, Bio-Diversity junction, Nanakramguda, Narsingi, Manchirevula, TS Police Academy, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, Airport Cargo station and the RGIA Terminal.
“To be funded by the state government, the project is expected to be completed in around three years. We have submitted the detailed project report (DPR) and are in discussions with government for additional 31 km city metro expansion— BHEL to Lakdikapul (26 km) and Nagole to LB Nagar (5 km),” tweeted KT Rama Rao, minister for municipal administration and urban development. This additional 31 km is expected to be part of Phase-II of the Hyderabad Metro.
