May 1, 2024: The Indian Railways is gearing up to introduce India’s pioneering Vande Bharat Metro, marking a significant advancement in intra-city transportation. Following the successful integration of Vande Bharat Express trains into India’s railway network, preparations for the Vande Bharat Metro are currently underway, with its trial run scheduled to commence in July 2024. A target has been set to launch the Vande Bharat Metro in 2024, with the city to first receive it currently under consideration.
Employing state-of-the-art technology for swift acceleration and deceleration, the Vande Metro is engineered to streamline stoppage times, addressing the needs of the dynamic urban lifestyle. In addition to featuring automatic doors and high comfort levels, the metro will boast several innovative elements not found in existing metro trains. Details regarding the additional features of the metro, along with visual representations, will soon be shared with the public.
The Vande Metro will feature a distinctive coach configuration, with each unit comprising four coaches, and a minimum of 12 coaches forming a complete Vande Metro train. Initially, a minimum of 12 Vande Metro coaches will be introduced, with the option to expand to 16 coaches based on route demand.
