The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulator (UP RERA) on July 18 said that it will assign a unique QR code to each new project during registration. Promoters have to necessarily publish this QR code in their brochures and advertisements.
With the QR code in place, anybody exploring a particular project for investment can scan the QR code mentioned in the advertisement and get all details from the UP RERA portal. This is a step towards helping home buyers who don’t have access to verify project claims and solely depend on whatever is mentioned in the promoter’s advertising brochures.
Additionally, in an official statement, UP RERA has also made it compulsory for promoters to publish project QR codes in all documents shared with the allottees, such as booking forms, allotment letters and builder-buyer agreements.
How are QR codes beneficial?
By scanning the project QR code, the homebuyer will be led to the project UP RERA registration page where he can access details such as land documents, layouts that are approved, the amenities that come with the project, the start date and the expected competition date, quarterly progress report, OC, CC, NOC etc.
