The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP Rera) has imposed penalties on more than 1,000 promoters for not submitting the Quarterly Progress Report (QPR) properly. The authority has directed these promoters to promptly upload the latest QPRs on the portal to avail benefits of project registration extension. Uploading a QPR periodically on the UP Rera portal is one of the key responsibilities of the promoter, helping customers stay informed about the progress of the project.
As per UP Rera, promoters of 1,088 projects have been penalised for QPR-related violations. Out of these 1,088 projects, promoters of 732 projects have not provided any detail regarding targets and completion dates while the developers of 356 projects have not updated their targets on the authority’s portal. The authority has slapped a penalty of Rs 2 lakh per project in cases where targets were not at all provided and Rs 1 lakh per project in cases where target details were not uploaded on the portal.
Most of these projects are located in Gautam Budh Nagar, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Varanasi, Agra, etc. The projects that got penalised include all types of projects like residential, plotted development, commercial, etc. UP Rera has advised promoters to fill details of QPR cautiously and ensure that details of past quarters have been filled before filling the latest. In case of non-submission of the QPR in past quarters, promoters will have to pay delay charges before they are allowed to submit the QPR for the current quarter.
