UP to hold more camps to help farmers get PM Kisan 14th instalment

June 21, 2023: Uttar Pradesh has decided to conduct camps at government-run agriculture seed stores in each development block from June 24, 2023, to help eligible farmers receive Central subsidy under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

To receive the Rs 6,000 annual financial support in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 under the Centre’s flagship scheme, farmers must complete their KYC, must get their land details verified and link their bank account with their Aadhaar. The same account must also be connected to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) mapper. Seeding a bank account with Aadhaar and mapping it with NPCI mapper requires providing your KYC details, biometric and demographic authentication and resolving possible inconsistencies between the Aadhaar database and the bank account.

UP additional chief secretary Devesh Chaturvedi has issued an order in this regard to all district magistrates and agriculture director & deputy directors.

Recall here that the UP government ran a two-week drive at gram panchayat and tehsil level till June 10 to help farmers comply with pre-requisites to receive the PM Kisan subsidy ahead of the release of the 14th instalment.  The 14th instalment of the PM-Kisan may be released in June or July.

“The aim of these camps is to address every problem of the farmers and to ensure that the 14th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is credited to the accounts of all eligible farmers. In this sequence, camps were organised in each gram panchayat of the district from May 22 to June 10. Similarly, camp sessions are being conducted at all tehsil headquarters in the state from June 12 to June 23,” a government spokesman told media on June 20.
