Eco Park, Rajarhat, is a 480-acre park that was inaugurated in December 2012. The park has exhibits highlighting the state’s diverse natural and cultural resources. Because of the park’s successful bridging of so many different biological zones, it has earned the name Prakriti Tirtha (Nature pilgrimage). It’s the best place to go for a picnic or relax in Kolkata.

The park has a total area of 194 hectare (480 acre), 42 of which are water, including an island in the centre of a 100-hectare (250-acre) lake. Grasslands, concrete jungles, and many types of gardens and parks may all be found at Eco Park. There are a variety of attractions inside this park, including a bamboo grove, a musical fountain, a garden, and a butterfly park.

7 Wonders of the World

Each of the seven wonders of the world is represented in the park, including the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, Petra in Jordan, the Colosseum in Rome, the Great Wall of China, the Moai sculptures on Easter Island, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, and the Taj Mahal in India. A total of three acres of land are used for the setup.

Toy Train Ride

Toy train tracks crisscross the whole park. Each passenger will pay Rs 150, and the journey will take roughly 25 minutes.

Eco Cart Rides

At Counter 1, guests who would rather not walk may ride the Eco-cart to the Kids’ Park. Not without cost, however; each ride will cost you Rs 100.

Gaming Zone

Visitors who are particularly interested in video games may spend some time in the Gaming Zone, where they can hone their skills and strategies. Every participant will pay Rs 50 for the one-hour session.

Boating

Boating is a popular pastime in Eco Park, Kolkata. The park’s large waterbody provides enough opportunity for solo or group boating excursions. The price per person might be anything from Rs 50 to Rs 300.

Zorbing

The park offers Zorbing ball rides for both land and sea. Land zorbing lasts 30 minutes and costs Rs 150 per person, whereas water zorbing in the same location costs Rs 150 for 10 minutes.

E-bike Rides

Every rider will be charged Rs 150. Guests can ride electric scooters and bicycles for 10 minutes to get a feel for how they work.

Ice Skating

Visitors may experience ice skating for Rs 150 per person at the rink.

Paintball

The cost of playing is Rs 50 for a set of five balls. All ages may find something to love in this entertaining pastime.

Cycling

The fee for a baby bike ride is Rs 70, while a single rider pays Rs 150, and a couple pays Rs 300. Each ride will go for a total of one hour.

Rifle Shooting

Shooting ranges are available for public use. Each round of 10 shots will cost you Rs 50.

Bird Watching

Here, sightseers may have the privilege of seeing a wide variety of birds in their natural habitat. Each admission ticket costs Rs 10.

Archery

The Eco Park is home to a dedicated Archery Range. For every set of five arrows, it will cost you Rs 70.

 

How to get to Eco Park?

  • By bus: Jatragachi Bus Stand is near Eco Park, which is 4.9 km away. You may take a city bus from Ultadanga, the Kolkata Airport, Salt Lake, Chingrighata, or Baguiati. CTC bus number C8, which can be caught at the Tollygunge bus station and taken straight to Eco Tourist park, is another option. Vacationers staying in the Esplanade area may take buses 46B and 217B from Chinar Park or City Centre 2.
  • By rail: The closest train station to Eco Park is Patipukur Railway Station, which is 11.2 km away. From here, you can easily take a rickshaw to the park.
  • By air: The Kolkata International Airport is 10 km from Eco Park. From the airport, you can take a cab or taxi to get to the park.
