July 30, 2024: The Uttar Pradesh government has directed the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) to allot plots meant for industrial and mixed-land projects along the Yamuna Expressway based on the interview-objective criteria instead of the e-auction process, according to media reports. Yeida will use the interview-objective criteria to allot five plots for data centres and eight plots for mixed-use.
Under the interview-objective criteria, the development authority will provide marks to a company on the basis of its financial strength, work experience and interview performance, among other categories, to determine whether the company is eligible to be allotted a plot or not. The company scoring the maximum marks will be allotted the plots.
The five data centre plots have an area ranging from 20,000 square metre (sqm) to 23,000 sqm. The plots meant for mixed-land use have an area ranging from 40,000 sqm to 91,225 sqm.
Yeida regularly launches plots schemes for investment, which include residential, industrial and commercial along the 165-km Yamuna Expressway. In January 2024, the authority launched plots scheme offering mixed land-use plots located in Sector 24, the allotment of which will be done based on the Objective Parameter as per the specified policy of Yeida.
