However, you must use the same form of enrolment process because it will have your data like pre-enrolment ID, UID, biometric update, name, gender, address, e-mail Id, mobile number, date of birth, and age.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number that acts as proof of Indian residency and not as proof of citizenship. To obtain an Aadhaar card is voluntary and does not grant any rights to stay in India. This card can only be obtained by a citizen who has spent more than 182 days in a year in India. The Aadhaar card is the world’s largest collection of biometric and demographic data and was established by the government under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. 

 

Aadhaar correction form: How to submit a request for a correction form online?

To correct your details through the Aadhaar card form online, follow these steps:

  • Click on ‘Send OTP’ and enter that OTP number before clicking the login button.
  • On the new page, you will see two options:
  • Update your address via Address proof
  • Update your address via secret code (valid if you have Address Validation Letter)
  • If you choose address proof, you can view your old address and an option to provide the new address.
  • Enter your details and click on the preview button.
  • You can either edit these details or click on submit.
  • You have to upload the original address proof through scanning.
  • Post submission, you will receive an Update Request Number which will help you track your request status.

 

Aadhaar correction form: How to submit online?

  • You can either visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or download from here.
  • You need to carry original documents when you visit your nearest ‘Aadhaar Enrolment Centre’
  • After the submission and verification of the form, you will receive an EID acknowledgement receipt. This EID number will help you track request status.

Aadhaar correction form: Things to remember while filling the form 

Remember, the enrollment and correction form of the Aadhaar card is the same, and it can lead to confusion. Therefore, you should only fill in:

  • Your EID number, date, and time. An EID number is a 28-digit enrollment ID consisting of your enrollment number.
  • Your official name.
  • The details that need to be corrected.

 

Aadhaar correction form: Different fields and their meaning

Name

Here, you need to enter your legal name without titles like Mr, Mrs, Shri, Dr, etc. You also need to provide proof of your legal name. For that, you can upload a scanned copy of your passport, PAN card, driving licence, etc. You can check different documents that can be submitted as proof on the UIDAI website. You are only allowed to make minor changes to your name.

Gender

You have three options – Male, female and other

Age and Date of Birth

You need to enter your birth date in DD/MM/YYYY format. If your family members are unaware of their exact date of birth, you can enter an estimated age in years. If you have documents for verifying your birth date, tick on ‘verified. If you do not have documents for verification of your birth date, tick on ‘declared’. 

Address

If you visit the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre, carry original address proof for address verification. Be very vigilant while entering your address because that is where you will receive your Aadhaar card. If you wish to include your parents, guardian, or spouse’s name in your address tab, you can choose C/o (care of), D/o (daughter of), S/o (son of), W/o (wife of), or H/o (husband of). In this section, you can change or enter your e-mail ID and mobile number.

Relationship

If the Aadhaar card application is below 5 years of age, the name and Aadhaar number of the father, mother or guardian becomes compulsory.

Documents

You need to mention which all documents you will be providing while submitting your form. These documents could be Proof of Identity, Proof of Address, Date of Birth and Proof of relation.

Using introducer or HUF

If your identity or address verification is based on Head of the Family (HoF) or introducer, you should provide your Aadhaar or EID number under HoF or introducer tab.

Aadhaar correction form: Do’s and Don’ts

  • Enter your details using capital letters.
  • Fill only those fields that need to be corrected.
  • Enter your information with correct and valid details.
  • Enter your complete address to receive your Aadhaar card on time.
  • Entering your detail in your Aadhaar card in your local language because it was issued in your local language is not mandatory.
  • Your name should not have any prefix like Mr, Mrs, Miss, etc.
  • Attach all the correct documents while submitting supporting documents. Your documents cannot be old or invalid.
  • If you do not have original documents, you need to attach certified copies by a gazetted officer or a public notary.
  • You need to link your mobile number with your Aadhaar card while requesting the correction form online.
  • Your application will be rejected if your documents turn out incorrect or unverified.

  • Electricity bill (only 3 months old)

  • Insurance policy
  • NREGA job card.
