Abua Awas Yojana 2023: Eligibility, documents and budget

Jharkhand’s new housing plan focuses on providing shelter to low-income families at affordable rates.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren marked the 77th Independence Day with a new housing plan, Abua Awas Yojana 2023. This scheme aims to provide three-room homes to the needy and low-income families of the state. However, this scheme only benefits the families that did not get their houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

On August 15, 2023, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Governor hoisted the national flag and headed the parade in Dumka and Ranchi, respectively. Concerning Abua Awas Yojana 2023, the CM announced that the government of Jharkhand’s new housing scheme will be completed within two years and made available until the same.

The Chief Minister talked about various schemes that focus on unprivileged sections of society. He also highlighted that the government is all set to release 38,000 job vacancies soon. He urged the youth to seize the opportunity and head for brighter futures.

 

Goal of Abua Awas Yojana 2023

The primary goal of Abua Awas Yojana is to provide pucca houses to low-income families. The scheme focuses on families unable to build houses due to poverty and could not receive the same under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. All such families are to get three-room pucca houses ensuring the proper shelter for every needy citizen.

 

Abua Awas Yojana Budget

To ensure proper operation of this new housing scheme, the Jharkhand government has set a Rs 15,000 crore budget. This hefty budget will ensure that the project gets completed within two years and the allocation of houses is done on time. The eligible families must submit the required documents and meet their criteria.

  • Address proof
  • Aadhaar card
  • Ration card
  • Passport size photo
  • Mobile number
  • Income certificate
  • Bank account

 

Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for Jharkhand Abua Awas Yojana are not clear. However, one certain criterion is that the families who have already availed their homes under PM Awas Yojana are not eligible for this scheme. Other criteria like income and caste eligibility will only come to light after the official release of guidelines.

 

Governor’s vision for the state            

Governor CP Radhakrishnan states that the government is still dealing with challenges like unemployment, poverty, and migration. While acknowledging these problems, he also mentioned that the government is working towards several schemes that would strengthen and promote the overall development of Jharkhand.
