Are you eligible to get govt subsidy under PM Kisan scheme?

Find out if you are eligible to get the Rs 6,000 benefit.

More than 81,000 farmers in Bihar are found ineligible to receive government subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. Now, the government will not only remove their names from the beneficiary list but also take back the money sent into their accounts so far (a total of Rs 81.6 crore).

Under the PM Kisan scheme, the government directly transfers Rs 6,000 in the accounts of eligible farmers in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 at specific intervals through the year. So far, the government has distributed 14 PM Kisan instalments.

Who is eligible for the PM Kisan subsidy?

When the scheme was launched on February 24, 2019, its benefits were offered only to small marginal farmers families, with combined landholding of up to 2 hectare. The scheme was revised on June 1, 2019, and extended to all farmer families, irrespective of the size of their landholdings. This means all landholding farmers’ families, which have cultivable landholding in their names, are eligible to get benefit under the scheme.
