Developers in Guwahati have been issued an order by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Assam that it is mandatory for all project advertisements, banners and hoardings to clearly display the RERA registration number, project name and website address.
Not displaying Assam RERA registration number, project name and website details is a violation of Section 11(2) of the RERA Act 2016 and the rules and regulations made under the authority.
The order was issued because many developers in Guwahati were advertising projects without mention of Rera registration details.
The order mentioned that developers have to take this warning seriously. In case of developers not following the instructions, the provisions of Section 61 of the RERA Act 2016 will be applicable on them. According to Section 61 of the RERA Act 2016, a promoter shall be liable to a penalty that may extend up to five percent of the approximate project cost in case of violation or contravention of any provisions, other than the provisions of Sections 3 and 4 of the Act.
