The District Tourism Promotion Councils, Kerala and ports department have constructed the Beypore Floating Bridge on Beypore Marine Beach in Kozhikode. The bridge rises and falls as a response to the waves’ intensity. The Beypore Floating Bridge was inaugurated on March 31, 2022.

Beypore Floating Bridge: Construction details
The Beypore Floating Bridge spans 100 m in length and 3 m in width. It is made up of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) blocks that float on water. The floating bridge has been constructed using around 1,300 HDPE blocks of 7 kg each. The bridge is supported by 31 anchors of 100 kg. The bridge can be easily dismantled, moved to another location, and assembled again.

The Beypore Floating Bridge is open from 11 am to 6 pm every day.

An amount of Rs 100 per person is charged for visiting the Beypore Floating Bridge.

At the end of the bridge, there is a 15-metre-wide platform, where tourists can go and enjoy the beauty of sea. There are railings on both sides of the bridge for safety. The bridge is designed to carry 500 people at a time but only 50 people with life jackets are presently allowed to visit the Beypore Floating Bridge.
