BSES Rajdhani Power Limited came into being in 2002 after the privatisation of the Delhi power sector. It is a joint venture between the government of Delhi and Reliance Infrastructure Limited that provides electricity in an area of 750 kilometres and serves 10.27 lakh customers annually. BSES Rajdhani provides electricity to 19 districts of Delhi. BSES Rajdhani Power Limited is one of the three electricity companies that provide electricity in Delhi. The other two companies that provide electricity in Delhi are BSES Yamuna Power Limited and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited.
Functions of BRPL
- Providing electricity: They give electricity to many people in South and West Delhi. This includes electricity for homes, businesses, and factories.
- Looking after electrical systems: BRPL also takes care of the systems that deliver electricity in parts of Delhi.
- Handling bills and payments: They calculate and send out monthly electricity bills. These bills are based on how much electricity you use, any unpaid past bills, and some standard charges. The amount charged for electricity follows the rates set in Delhi.
- Solving problems: BRPL helps with any issues customers have. This includes fixing power cuts, setting up new electricity meters or replacing old ones, and dealing with electricity outages.
