The BYL Nair Hospital also known as Nair Hospital locally, is part of the Topiwala National Medical College, which was established in 1921 pre-British era. The hospital provides subsidised or free treatment across several specialities such as cardiology, neurology, urology, andrology, nephrology and haematology among others.
It is one of the few hospitals in the city to have an active department of medical social work to provide free medical treatment to the underprivileged.
