Chandigarh Tricity pips national average on Housing.com’s IRIS index

According to Housing.com’s IRIS Index, which is a leading indicator of upcoming property demand in 42 key cities of India, Chandigarh Tricity’s online property search volume activity is pegged higher than the Indian average, Ludhiana and Amritsar.

Chandigarh Tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali, and Zirakpur) is a highly urbanized region renowned for its modern infrastructure, cosmopolitan culture, and opulent lifestyle. The area has experienced remarkable development in recent times, establishing itself as a major hub for industries, IT companies, and education. With an extensive network of roads, railways, and airways, this region is excellently connected to other parts of India. Its international airport acts as a major gateway, linking the area with cities across the globe. As a popular tourist destination, Chandigarh Tricity attracts numerous visitors every year who are drawn to its scenic beauty, historic landmarks, and rich cultural heritage.

This thriving and dynamic region provides a perfect fusion of contemporary and traditional elements. Zirakpur and Mohali, being integral parts of the Chandigarh Tricity area are swiftly emerging as major centers for commercial, industrial, and real estate development. Their strategic location, availability of land, and seamlessness to the Chandigarh city have significantly contributed to their recent growth. The government has implemented various measures to boost foreign direct investment (FDI) in the area, including setting up special economic zones (SEZs). The region has a well-built state highway network linking it to nearby towns and cities while the National Highway 44 passes through the region, connecting it to major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Special economic zones (SEZs) in the region, such as the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park and the Mohali IT Park, offer a host of incentives and benefits to businesses. These SEZs cater specifically to the IT industry, with other sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology also having their own SEZs in the area.

According to our IRIS Index, which is a leading indicator of upcoming property demand in 42 key cities of India, Chandigarh Tricity’s online property search volume activity is pegged higher than the Indian average, Ludhiana and Amritsar. In fact, the city has even surged ahead of Gurgaon, while registering a splendid growth of 84 per cent in the online property search volume since November 2022 signaling for a positive trend to continue in the coming years.
