The Chennai Metro network provides excellent connectivity to the residents of Chennai and neighbouring regions. It comprises two operational lines – the Blue Line and the Green Line. The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) built and operates the Chennai Metro. The CMRL is working on the expansion of the Chennai Metro network. The Chennai Metro Orange Line or Line 4 is an under-construction line developed under Chennai Metro Phase-2 project. The Chennai Metro Orange Line will connect Poonamallee Bypass to the Lighthouse region, which is expected to be operational by 2026.
