Kharghar: Location and connectivity

Kharghar is one of the biggest nodes in Navi Mumbai with landmarks, such as the Central Park and the Golf Course. It is surrounded by the Pandavkada hills, famous for its waterfalls especially during the rainy season. A well-planned location, Kharghar extends to Sector-35 after that the neighbouring area Taloja starts.

Kharghar is well-connected to other parts of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai by road and the Harbour Railway Network. The recently inaugurated Navi Mumbai Metro covers the entire Kharghar. While it starts from Belapur and terminates at Pendhar, the metro route (Line 1) is 11 km long and passes through Kharghar.

Kharghar also enjoys connectivity with the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the Sion-Panvel Highway. It is also close to the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), presently under-construction.

Neighbouring localities of Kharghar include Belapur CBD, Taloja, Roadpali, Kamote, etc. Reputed educational institutions, such as DAV Public School, B.D. Somani International School, Bal Bharti Public School, Vishwajyot High School, and Pre-school are in Kharghar. Kharghar has the Medicity hospital. The MGM Institute of Health Sciences at Belapur is around 5-10 minutes from Kharghar.
