February 8, 2024: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), on February 5, 2024, passed several resolutions, including the launch of Phase 2 of the DDA Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023 and amendments to its management and disposal of housing estate regulations. The resolutions were passed at a DDA meeting chaired by Delhi lieutenant governor VK Saxena, who is also the chairman of the department.
According to an India Today report, the DDA has authorised changes in land use in Ghazipur, Auchandi and Jangpura to enhance public infrastructure. It has approved plans for constructing a five-lane toll plaza (RFID System) at Ghazipur and an electric substation in Auchandi. The authority also approved changes in Jangpura for RRTS installations for improved public transportation.
The authority made several decisions aimed at boosting housing schemes and developing the Narela sub-city as an educational hub. The DDA Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023, launched in November 2023, received a positive response, with 744 flats booked out of the 2093 flats on offer. The DDA conducted an e-auction for these flats and will conduct another round of e-auction for the remaining flats in Dwarka’s Sector 19B and 14. DDA Middle Income Group (MIG) flats at Loknayakpuram were offered through first-come-first-serve (FCFS) mode.
