The Delhi Metro Grey Line, also known as the Dwarka-Najafgarh Metro corridor, is the shortest metro corridor in the national capital. Despite its comparatively short length, the 5.9 km Grey Line acts as a crucial connectivity link for suburban areas in Delhi’s southwestern parts. Developed in two stages, the first part of the over 4.2 km Dwarka-Najafgarh corridor consisting of three stations — Dwarka, Nangli, and Najafgarh — was inaugurated in October 2019. The 891-etre-long Najafgarh-Dhansa Bus Stand section that opened in August 2021 took the metro in the rural areas of Najafgarh, up to the national capital’s border with Haryana.

Delhi Metro Grey Line: Impact on connectivity
By connecting southwestern peripheral areas in Delhi with a metro link, the Delhi Metro Grey Line has made them more accessible. Due to its limited connectivity, people living in areas such as Najafgarh had to spend hours to central parts of Delhi for work and business purposes.
When the Grey Line was extended till Dhansa Bus Adda Metro Station, it will provide metro connectivity to about 50 villages in the area, from where a huge number of people travel to central part of the city for work and shopping.
They had to earlier cross the busy and congested the Phirni Road Chowk to get into the metro. With the metro services extended till the Dhansa Bus Stand, many people coming from Jhajjar, Haryana, can come to work in Delhi.
