Dholera financial district: Plans and progress 

Two of the five companies given land in the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), ReNew Power and Chiripal Group, have begun construction.

The Gujarat chief minister said at an event at the Administration and Business Centre for Dholera (ABCD) building, that Dholera SIR is larger than a developed country like Singapore. Dholera, he said, was the country’s first new smart city to receive an IGBC rating. The chief minister added that Dholera SIR seeks to attain new horizons with its strategic location in the world’s fastest-growing economy coinciding with the next generation required infrastructure development.

ReNew Power has been given 100 acre of land at Dholera SIR for a plant that will produce solar modules with a capacity of 2000 MW. Chiripal has been granted 90 acre to construct a plant producing aluminium foil and PET resin.

In the remaining three plots of land that have been assigned, Tata Chemicals is constructing a 10 GWh Li-ion battery plant on 126 acre, Hindustan Petroleum is building gas stations and charging stations for electric vehicles on three acre and Torrent Power is constructing a power distribution network on six acre.
