Dobra Chanti Bridge: Significance

The Dobra Chanti Bridge was built to shorten the distance for travel. Approximately 16 bridges were submerged in water as the Tehri Lake Reservoir began to fill in October 2005. Additionally submerged was the bridge that crossed the district of Pratapnagar and Tehri. The residents of the region had to travel an additional 100 km as they were unable to take their usual route. The bridge has been crucial to the area’s economic growth. It has helped connect isolated locations. The development of the area’s agricultural and tourism sectors has been significantly helped by the bridge.
