First-time home buyers, find out why Pune is worth the investment

We look at what makes Pune a ripe, buyer-friendly market, for those looking to invest in their first dream home

If you have seen the popular Bhansali movie, Bajirao Mastani, you must remember the dazzling Shaniwar Wada. The home to Shanivar Wada, a nerve centre of Maharashtrian culture and history, the favourite city voted by young adults and a rapidly growing IT hot spot – Pune comes with 99 perks and being one of the top cities for first-time home buyers definitely is one!

Moreover, when leading real estate developers like Kalpataru are constantly investing to carve a distinguished lifestyle, it only takes life in Pune up a notch and makes the decision a whole lot better.

However, the thought of investing in your first home can be overwhelming. Well, you’re in luck! We talked to a few locals in the search for answers, because who better to ask than people who are already living in the city. Here’s what they had to say:

What is the best thing about living in Pune?

“One of the things that encouraged me to settle down in Pune is the excellent educational opportunities it offers. My priority was to provide top-notch education to my children and this city makes it possible, without being away from them.”

– Shravan Kumar, architect

“I moved to Pune to find employment as a software engineer but I also loved the idea of being close to nature. The city’s booming IT sector helped me advance in my career and its wonderful nature spots and tekris helped me keep in touch with the nature-lover in me.”

– Maitreyee Thakur, senior software engineer

“The weather! You will have plenty of days throughout the year when the weather will just urge you to go for a drive or lounge outdoors. It also makes for the perfect scenario for a date with your partner.”

– Prachi Kapoor, artist

What are the best Pune localities for young professionals?

“I think it mostly depends on your lifestyle but some localities like Hadapsar are both, family-friendly and close to IT parks of Magarpatta City and Fursungi.”

– Ranvijay, engineer

“I have been living in Manjri for 3 years now. It is an emerging suburb in Pune. Although it is close to Hadapsar, Pune city, Magarpatta, Infocity and the Pune-Solapur highway, it is one of those localities in Pune, where I was able to find green living, quiet, open spaces and almost no pollution. I feel it is one of the best localities to settle down and start a family.”

– Maya Rajput, homemaker

“I lived in Kalpataru Jade in Baner before I moved to Manjri, because of its proximity to IT companies, SEZs, the Pune-Solapur highway and Magarpatta, which is where my office is. The roads are well-connected and basic facilities like hospitals and schools are nearby. It has been 3 years of me owning an apartment in Kalpataru Serenity, the largest gated residential community in the locality.”

– Prakash Agnihotri, product architect

What are the best residential properties in Pune?

“It really depends on the locality but Pune has the best-in-class real estate developers offering a stellar range of commercial and residential properties to choose from. Kalpataru, a leading real estate developer in the country is making strides in Pune with numerous world-class projects under construction and coming up. They have been one of the prominent deliverers of luxury and premium lifestyle, making it accessible to the ones who want to upgrade.”

– Narsimha Pai, real estate agent

“Being associated with the cement industry for years, I am well informed about the nitty-gritty of construction. I feel, because of the high standards that Kalpataru brings to the table, they have been able to gain my trust over time. I am also very pleased to own a home at Kalpataru Serenity.”

– Prashant Kulkarni, employee at Zuari Cement

“Five years ago, I bought an apartment in Kalpataru Serenity, Manjri. This society stands on a spacious 16-acre land and has a well-maintained clubhouse. It delivers ‘premium living without the sky-high costs’. I feel my kids are safe and happy to have the open grounds to play, making new friends every day. My husband and I have finally been able to work on our fitness goals by sweating it out in the gym, on the jogging track or on the squash court! Even during the pandemic, there was enough space for my friends and me to engage in distanced yoga sessions every morning.”

– Shanta Dixit, community worker

As a first-time home buyer, it is sometimes harder to find a city with a healthy balance of affordable prices, lesser competition, access to good jobs and world-class amenities. On top of it, making a smart financial decision also matters. Pune is a ripe buyer-friendly market for those looking to invest in their first dream home. With all that, the country’s affordable but premium housing market superstar will be Pune!
