JK scholarship: Eligibility criteria 

To qualify for any of the JK scholarships, you must be a resident of Jammu and Kashmir or a citizen of India. One must also meet several additional requirements before being considered for these scholarships. Check out the details here if you’re interested.

  • Candidates who have passed from a JKBOSE or CBSE-affiliated high school in J&K are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Students must be enrolled in an approved program leading to a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree at one of the approved institutions.
  • The students may only apply to schools outside of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The student’s household income must be below Rs 8 lakh per year.
  • For the remaining places in the professional category, students with a 10+3 qualification from J&K State Polytechnics may apply for advanced standing to enter the program in the second year.
2 Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students, Jammu and Kashmir 2021
  • Students need to prove that they are citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Students are required to fall under the category of Scheduled Tribes.
  • Students need to be in at least the 11th grade and up to the postdoctoral level.
  • Students’ families’ total annual income must be less than Rs 2 lakh for them to be eligible for the scholarship.
3 Combined Counselling Board (CCB) Scholarship, J&K
  • Students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program (whether at the diploma, degree, or postgraduate level) are eligible to submit an application for this scholarship.
  • Students must receive a grade of at least 40–50% on their most recent qualification exams.
4 KEI Post Graduate Scholarship Program (HSSP)
  • Each student must have obtained a 75% or above on the Grade 8 examination given in either November or December of 2021.
  • Student household income as a whole must be below Rs. 300,000.

 

JK scholarship: Documents required 

For students to submit an application for the scholarship, they need to provide the following documents:

  1. A single copy of the state- or territory-specific scholarship application form (fresh scholarship applications and renewal scholarship applications use different forms).
  2. Signatures on one copy of the student’s passport-sized picture (for fresh scholarship).
  3. Copy of Aadhar Card
  4. Copy of Pan Card Details
  5. Copy of Bank Passbook
  6. Original, signed Caste Certificate issued by a Revenue Officer with a minimum of Tehsildar level authority.
  7. A notarised document on non-judicial stamp paper from the self-employed parents/guardians detailing their total annual income. Parents or guardians who are employed must provide income proof from their employers and a declaration in a non-judicial prescribed format attesting to the amount of their total income from all sources, including employment.
  8. If the candidate received a scholarship under this program in the previous academic year, they must provide a signed copy of the receipt from the previous academic year showing that they received the scholarship.

 

JK scholarship: Application method 

To be considered for the scholarship, the candidate must submit their application by the following method:

JK scholarship: Payment

Following the approval of the scholarship, the monetary award will be distributed through one of the following methods:

  • If the student gets admitted after the 20th of a given month, payment of the scholarship will begin the next month and continue until the period in which the  student’s final exams are completed after the academic year.
  • If the scholarship is renewed, payments will begin in the month following the month that the scholarship was paid up to in the previous year.
  • The chosen students will receive their scholarships from the government of the union territory to which they belong, in line with the process established by that government.
  • UT administrations would facilitate payment of Scholarships via their accounts in post offices/banks to ensure timely and accurate payment of funds to recipients. The UT administration will implement a centralised online scholarship management and an ‘e-payment’ system.

Candidates who successfully obtain one of these scholarships will be awarded the following awards:

  • The academic fee for a standard degree programme may be up to 30,000 Indian rupees, and the maintenance fee can be up to 1 lakh Indian rupees.
  • For professional degree programs, the academic fee may be up to 1.25 Lakh Indian rupees, and the maintenance charge can be up to 1 Lakh Indian rupees.
  • For medical/BDS or other similar medical programs, the academic fee may be up to 3 lakh Indian Rupees, and the maintenance charge can be up to 1 lakh Indian Rupees.
2 Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students, Jammu and Kashmir  Allowance for maintenance and upkeep 

Payment of required fees, which are non-refundable.

JK scholarship: Points to remember

  • Be sure you meet the requirements before submitting an application for the scholarship.
  • The applicant has to provide a mobile phone number that is both current and active, and it needs to be one that will continue to work in the coming days.
  • It is required that they have a working email address.
  • When filling out an online form, it is recommended to use a laptop or desktop computer.
  • Do not wait until the scholarship’s application deadline to submit your application.
  • Make sure that the application form is correct before submitting it.
